I don't get the referral link rule!
Subject description: Help me understand what exactly is being referred to.

I like playing by the rules. I like FreebieAuthority.. I AM somewhat taken back by the threats of eternal bans for crossing the line on the rules (only three of them! )
I have read (like everyone should) the rules, and have often seen posts by newcomers in the forums editted by moderators with a warning referring to referral links.
I can understand this, but very often see moderators that in fact have referral links as part of a signature when they post a message. They wouldn't blatantly blow off the rules, but then again they are referral links, are they not?
I'm quite unsure of what's okay, and what's not.
But then too, I had only 4hrs of sleep last night, and 5 the night before... and don't have any coffee!
It does appear that links to a person's webtraffic referral links are okay... (like NetBux, TrafficSwarm, and those sorts of things.)
Are these alright to have? Or perhaps it's just taking the mods a while to take action against these violators!
Anybody's thoughts are welcome! |

| If I'm not mistaken, you may put any referral link you want in your sig. As long as you are not referring people to an inferior conga site. |

Sk8er720 is correct. It's not exactly all in one thread or post that states that so sometimes it can be a little confusing, especially to new members.
Here are the posts for reference: | Quote: | | Don't post any referral links (except in designated threads) |
2) Then Clover mentions here; | Quote: | | It is also permissible to place your link in your signature |
or course as long as that doesn't violate rule 2; | Quote: | | Don't post any links to other inferior Freebie Guide or Conga/Trading Sites. |
3) Then Clover clarifies what is allowed even more here; | Quote: | | save me the time of editing your post by not saying something like "See my sig for a signup link" |
Hope that helps |
